Biography

Marina Kofman is a dual-qualified lawyer (Australia and England and Wales) with over 11 years of experience in domestic and international commercial dispute resolution spanning arbitration, litigation and regulatory investigations. Marina has a track record of assisting clients to secure successful outcomes before international tribunals and Australia’s superior courts in a broad range of complex commercial and regulatory disputes.

Prior to setting up her own practice, Marina worked at top ranked international firms in Sydney, Hong Kong and London, where she specialised in large, complex and high-stakes cross-border and domestic disputes resolved through international arbitration and litigation. She also worked as an enforcement lawyer at Australia's corporate, markets, financial services and consumer credit regulator (ASIC), where she conducted several large and high-profile financial services regulatory investigations and subsequent civil and criminal enforcement actions before Australian courts.

Marina has represented clients as counsel in 13 commercial and investor-state arbitrations and arbitral award enforcement applications before domestic courts. Marina has acted in matters under many major arbitral rules including ICC, UNCITRAL, HKIAC, CIETAC and ICSID and has worked on matters in a wide variety of industry sectors and governed by different laws spanning common law, civil law, international law and supranational laws. Marina also spent time as a case manager and intern at the secretariats of two regional arbitral institutions: HKIAC and ACICA.
